Our network of trips links all of the river's hamlets with each other as well as with the attractions further afield such as the Eden Project, Camel Trail and the coastal harbours at Mevagissey, Padstow and Charlestown.

Ancient county capital and the small town with plenty of facilities at the head of the river, the gateway to the estuary and central for access to Eden, Lanhydrock and the northern sections of the river basin.

Home to Encounter Cornwall and the picture postcard village without the hordes of tourists. This is THE place to stay if you can make it. A beautiful, serene and unspoilt place, inspiring to wander through with fantastic views and walks along its own uninhabited creek and the perfect spot to relax with refreshments after some activities, gazing down the creek into the forest beyond.

Stunning coastal port with its own wide and dramatic natural harbour, the largest and liveliest place on the river with plenty of fine restaurants, quality cafés and unusual shops to explore, all surrounded by some of the most panoramic scenery that Cornwall has to offer.

St Winnow

Described as one of the most beautiful places on earth! A tiny hamlet of little more than a farm, a stunning riverside church and a boatyard resting in one of the remotest sections of the river, St Winnow is accessible by canoe trip or following the fantastic walking from Lerryn or Lostwithiel. Basic refreshments are available in this stunning location that holds its own little museum of bygone farming implements put together by the local farmer.

Golant

A slightly larger, but equally interesting, riverside village which holds the mid way point on the estuary between Lostwithiel and Fowey at one of the wider parts of the river. Pretty cottages cling to the steep hillside, enjoyable wide views out across the river to a point upriver where the Lerryn Creek and its forest join the estuary and downriver towards the port of Fowey. With its own pub bang on the waterside and an steady stream of passing boating activity, a great place to visit, stay or stop for refreshments and accessible by our canoe, walking and cycle trips.
