You are here: Home > Birthdays, Team Days, Corporate Days and Away DaysNeed to organise a special day for a group of friends or colleagues? Choose from any or all of canoeing, walking and cycling or challenge yourselves against each other and the clock with our own Lerryn Creek Trail Quest. ![]() ![]() Whatever your plans we can put together a fun and full day in the stunning Fowey River area looking after all your group activities, transfers and any meeting or social arrangements. From paddling through the creeks and inlets on the River Lerryn to pedalling along the stunning Camel Trail we have something for everyone's abilities and tastes. Strenuous or relaxed we can fit your day around you and your group ending it all by relaxing in the cosy Ship Inn with good food and beer here in the heart of Lerryn. The Group ActivitiesCanoeingTake a trip drifting through the inlets and wooded creeks of Wind in the Willows country. Suitable for all and the perfect group activity, a guided trip on the high tide from Lerryn is stunning with the leaping mullet, egrets, heron and buzzard for company. Or for those who want to see the whole river 1/2 day runs to or from Fowey and Lostwithiel take you through the full panorama of stunning scenery and Cornish wildlife only accessible to those on the water with the chance to stop for refreshments en route. Follow the link to see more about Canoeing on the River Fowey. CyclingTransferred to the best off road routes in the area try a group pedal down the flat and scenic Camel Trail along its stunning estuary, or tackle the traffic free Clay Trails passing the old clay pits and lakes of Cornwall past that surround the Eden Project. For those who want to stay close to Lerryn we have off road trails in the woods and forest around the village or if you really want the challenge cycling can be combined with some canoeing on our Trail Quest Challenge (see below). WalkingCombine some walking with other activities along the best coast, creek or river trails around Lerryn and Fowey. From relaxing and sociable ambles to challenging coast path routes we can fit in whatever suits your group's energy levels ending in a welcoming pub or tea shop. The Lerryn Creek Trail QuestA bit like orienteering but much more fun our quests take you through the stunning Lerryn River creek and woodland. We have several variations on the trails depending on your group sizes and whether you are planning a corporate team building exercise or just a laid back afternoon treasure hunt with your friends. Groups of between 2 and 6 plan their route with a basic trail map before searching for marker points strategically placed in the woods and creeks. Don't be fooled though, it's not about speed and fitness ... to succeed you need to think and plan ... The most distant places will be worth more points but there is not enough time to reach them all ... so you need to work out the best route to find the most in the time allowed. Other "controls" will only provide points for the first group to reach them ... maybe use the fitter members of your group to pick up the further markers while the thinkers plan the quickest routes and organise the team ...? It's up to you and your group! ![]() ![]() To bring in some chance and humour, extra bonuses and penalties can be collected on the way...as well as points for snapping specific items or wildlife with a digital camera (20 points for a wild duck ?!) There is also a hidden treasure box near one of the controls which can be located with a cryptic clue. We start and end the quest with refreshments at the Ship Inn or on the village Green at Lerryn where the "winners" are announced. Participants should be able to manage a brisk walking pace but running is not required and those with less speed can always concentrate on the photo and other tasks. Suitable for all ages (children with adults), the creek trail can be a fun amble for a group of friends or for more corporate days the trail can demand plenty of leadership, time management, planning and decision making skills in a group scenario against the clock - and as its not too serious its perfect for team bonding and building. Rest and RelaxationAll active people need a bit of a break and whether on a birthday with friends, or a team day with your fellow workers, we can build in refreshments through the day at various points or the chance for some fine food and drink at lunchtime or the end of the day at the cosy Ship Inn in Lerryn Working Away DaysIf you are determined to do some work as well as get into the great outdoors then we can arrange morning or afternoon meeting facilities. Get the brainstorming done with a morning meeting and then relax after lunch with an afternoon paddle on the river. The Lostwithiel Golf Hotel or Restormel Lodge Hotel in Lostwithiel offer full conference facilities or board room options and are just 3 miles down the road. Both venues offer all the materials and support you would expect from quality hotels. For the voluntary sector or those on a cheaper budget then we can also offer "Classroom" facilities at the YHA in Golant, a magnificent mansion based in woodland high above the river at Golant. Or centred around Lerryn you can use the excellent Ship Inn for more informal team activities and brainstorming. Prices and BookingsContact us for a quote on your away day / group day and to discuss whatever options you want to build into it and we will come back with some ideas. With prices ranging from £25 per person we can provide something to suit every budget and every fitness level.
