The Cornish Way Cycling Holidays

5 / 6 days cycling, 90 miles

Encounter everything Cornwall has to offer with the freedom of travelling on two wheels. Our Cornish Way route takes you on an unforgettable circle linking both coasts of this stunning area together with the "must see" attractions such as Eden and the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the "must ride" traffic free routes on The Camel Trail, The Clay Trails and in Pentewan Valley.

The Cycling

Using National Cycle Routes 3 and 32 on a mix of traffic free trail and country lanes this route keeps you away from the cars and the bustle and takes you into the remote and scenic areas that your car driving tourists never see. Linking all the major sites and tourist attractions, the route uses two trails created for cyclists, The St Piran Trail and The Coast and Clay Trail with daily distances between 15 and 30 miles for those on 5 day trips or between 10 and 22 miles for those cycling 6 days.

Highlights include riding the 12 mile off road Camel Trail following a disused railway line up this stunning estuary, the wild lunar landscapes of the Clay Country Trails and along the ancient woods to the sea on the Pentewan Valley Trail. There is plenty of time set aside for visits to Eden and the Lost Gardens of Heligan en route and for lovers of the sea you will come across empty, wild unspoilt beaches and coves on the dramatic and isolated Roseland Peninsular contrasted with the more lively surfing sands at Newquay and Watergate Bay on the North Coast.

Enjoy the chance to explore the dramatic moorland town at Bodmin, wander Cornwall's appealing capital city at Truro, cross the beautiful Fal Esturary on the famous King Harry Ferry. Spend time out of the saddle exploring the picture postcard fishing village at Mevagissey, the jagged rock hugging harbour at the smuggling hamlet of Portloe and award winning restaurants and galleries in the cosmopolitan harbour at Padstow. All are on your circular route, a true Cornish adventure with 90 miles of tranquillity, beauty and most of all varied and stunning cycling with the promise of something new around every corner.
