This is our first and still our favourite Coast to Coast route, giving you the chance to visit the beautiful but very different harbours of Padstow and Mevagissey whilst linking them with the area's best traffic-free cycle trails and the chance to pedal into the Eden Project or Lost Gardens of Heligan. Call us for more information about the trails and the attractions en route but if you want an adventure with as little traffic as possible ... then this is the one for you with over 25 miles on traffic free trails ... enjoy. Day 1: Padstow and the Camel Trail to Lostwithiel : 19 Miles Easy/ModerateCollected from your accommodation and delivered with your bikes to the pretty fishing harbour at Padstow with time to explore before you start your ride on the traffic free Camel Trail, a stunning 12 mile ride following the Camel Estuary inland towards Bodmin Moor. After visiting and then crossing of Bodmin, continue via the stately home at Lanhydrock Estate on a new off-road trail into quiet back lanes through the upper Fowey valley. End the day cycling with a glorious 1 mile downhill freewheel to your accommodation in Lostwithiel. Day 2: Eden, Pentewan Valley Trail & Clay Trails to Mevagissey : 21 Miles Easy/Moderate![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ride from your accommodation in Lostwithiel on remote Cornish back lanes circling Helmen's Tor and Redmoor on national cycle route 3 to the Eden Project. Pass by or stop to visit the Eden Project with fast track entry and a £3.00 cyclist discount. Continue on a fantastic new off road route the Wheal Martyn Clay Trail taking you through the Mica dams and lakes of 'Clay Country' passing the China Clay Heritage Centre into St Austell. Outside St Austell navigate the ancient woodlands on the Pentewan Valley Cycle Route along the old Mevagissey Railway all off road with a chance to hit the beach at Pentewan. Climb towards the Lost Gardens of Heligan and if time allows call in for tea. With a dramatic drop back to the coast, arrive in the fishing port of Mevagissey with time to explore before you are collected and dropped back at your accommodation. (Those on a three day trip will spend the night relaxing in Mevagissey). OptionsThird Day Cycling14 miles (Portloe with Lost Gardens) or 22 miles to Truro - Moderate / strenuous cycling. Overnight in the harbour area of Mevagissey enjoying its restaurants and bars before waking to continue on National Cycle Route 3 from Mevagissey through the cliffs and coves of Roseland Peninsular. End in the dramatic, jagged rock lined harbour at Portloe or for those with more energy crossing the stunning Fal Estuary by the King Harry Ferry and pedalling on to finish in the Cornish Capital at Truro. Passing Caerhays Castle and its beach on route the third day option gives you a chance to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan before leaving Mevagissey if you stopped at Eden instead on Day 2. Includes all transfers, 3rd days bike hire and an extra nights B&B based in Mevagissey. Third day CanoeingAfter a transfer to your overnight stay in the idyllic creekside village of Lerryn enjoy a gentle paddle today down the wooded creeks and inlets of the stunning Fowey Estuary a protected area of outstanding natural beauty. Plenty of time for the chance to stroll through the creekside to St Winnow or just laze by the river at The Ship Inn - includes all transfers, extra nights B&B and your Canoe Trip. What's IncludedWe take care of everything for you, with your luggage transferred for you every day to leave you free to travel light on the trail. Use your own bikes or hire ours, stay in quality B&B's in stunning locations on the trail or for those who want to stay out in the fresh air or keep their costs down the route can be travelled staying at scenic campsites on the way. It's a well signposted route but your package also includes your own copy of the detailed Sustrans Cycle route map along with our own Trail Pack giving you all the information you need for getting to your accommodation and the attractions / diversions en route. Those visiting Eden can benefit from Fast Track Entry and a £3 discount per person on the entry fee We can transfer you to the start / from the end of the trail to public transport or to your car which you can leave in the Lerryn Car Park (no charge) during you trip.
