Dolphin House (Portreath Area)

Dolphin House

With an emphasis on friendliness, combined with comfort and style, mixed with great breakfasts you are sure to have a lovely stay at Dolphin House. Located just a very short stroll from the historic harbour of Portreath and right on the South West Coast Path, Dolphin house is a perfect location to enjoy your holiday in Cornwall whether it be on a walking stopover or if you are planning to stay longer to enjoy the beach and explore.

Dolphin House - The accommodation

We have three rooms available all with very comfortable beds and ‘marshmallow pillows’. All the rooms are modern, unfussy and include fluffy towels as well as tea and coffee making facilities. The three rooms consist of two king size double bed rooms and a third which not only contains a double bed but also a day/single bed perfect for a small family group. Our breakfasts have been well tested by our friends and has been given a 10/10 score. We use local sources for our ingredients such as Angus Trotter bacon, the same suppliers as Jamie Oliver's '15 Restaurant' and Carrs butchers of St Agnes for sausages as they are just great! We like to take your order for breakfast the night before ensuring we can then cook it freshly for you in the morning. There is also an extensive range of cereals and fruit for those who can resist the temptation of a cooked breafast.

On your arrival you will be welcomed with a hot or cold drink accompanied by our own homemade cake to refresh you after a long days walk. We also offer by request a great choice of picnic/packed lunches for you to take with you on your days out. So for a great stay in an interesting and beautiful area come and join us at Dolphin House where we welcome you to our home.

Portreath - Things to do and places to see

* Portreath has it's own historic harbour front but is also only a short drive to the famous cathedral city of Truro where many shops and restaurants are available for you to explore. In fact you can get to most of Cornwall’s major attractions within a half an hour drive.

* Portreath’s beach is famous for its family friendly surf and is perfect for all ages and surfing abilities. It is a great rock pooling beach and is lifeguarded from the second week in May until the end of September.

* The section of north coast cliff path from Portreath is famous for its’ beauty and dramatic scenery. If you fancy a change from coast path walking situated close to Portreath is the beautiful Tehidy country park with its’ many wooded walks and golf course. Also visit places such as the Eden Project and St Michaels Mount both of which are under a 45 minute drive away.

* Cycling is another great thing to do from Portreath with its proximity to the Portreath and Devoran Tramway. Once used to transport ore to and from two main harbours on either side of the county it has now been re-surfaced and opened as a cycleway so you can literally cycle through the industrial history of Cornwall.

Tariff and Booking Details

Our prices for a single person using a double room start from £35 or for two in a double room £60. Triple occupancy in the family room is £80. A picnic for sharing starts at £15 or for a single back packers lunch £6 and our cakes are at various prices.
